I poked around the old Packard plant last weekend. I didn't feel like getting busted by security, so I stayed outside. It was humbling to finally see the place, but sad to see the extent of the damage. Pictures below.

Pretty sure my roommate has pictures of the inside.

This guy has an incredible website with tons of Detroit's buildings, including a very in depth section on the Packard Plant and its history. if you like urbex you will be lost for hours on his site.

Thank you for sharing your pictures.
What, if anything, occupied the building after Packard folded?
It's amazing it's still standing. My Dad retired from GM and the "new" plant he finished out his career in was built in 1975 and razed in the late '90's.

It was converted into a business park called the Motor City Industrial Park, but most of the tenants were booted out in the '90s in preparation for a redevelopment that never happened. One business held out until a couple years ago, because their equipment was too heavy to move easily.

What makes you think that?

If graffiti artists would channel their efforts in another direction they would be appreciated.
